Giving Back - The Toro Giving Program
At The Toro Company, we believe that a satisfying life comes from contributing at work and giving back to the communities important to you. In many ways, we support your interests and involvement:
Volunteering is an important part of our culture. As a full-time office employee, you may use up to 20 paid hours annually to roll-up your sleeves and give back to others. Participate in volunteer activities of your own interest or in company-sponsored activities like building playgrounds, constructing sports fields, cleaning up the environment, or promoting education. In the Twin Cities, we often partner with the Minnesota Vikings, Habitat for Humanity and The Home Depot on service projects.
Dollars for Doers
We recognize that volunteers are an invaluable asset to non-profit organizations. We may grant financial resources to qualifying non-profits when you volunteer 30 or more hours of personal time in a year.
Matching Gift Program
The Giving Program doubles your contributions (2:1) to non-profits with an environmental or educational focus.
Team Event Program
Team up with six or more employees and participate in non-profit events; you may be eligible for company matching funds.
Individual Heroic Effort Program
In our eyes, committing time and energy to participate in fundraising events of 3 or more days is extraordinary. We recognize this commitment by matching the money you raise, with certain limitations.
The Toro and Kendrick B. Melrose Family Foundation Scholarships
Your children may apply for annual post-secondary education scholarships through these generous programs.
Melrose Employee Critical Need Fund
If you experience a natural disaster, serious illness or injury, loss of life, or critical circumstances beyond your control, you may be eligible for a grant from this fund.
At least two percent of The Toro Company’s domestic, pre-tax earnings are donated through cash grants, production donations, and volunteer activities.
