KaBOOM Playground Build
Raking Cleanup
It can be done in a day! Over 200 Toro employees, community volunteers and players from the Minnesota Vikings partnered with KaBOOM! to build a playground at a local school. Building a playground is more than putting up a structure; it’s building a healthy community. Learn more
300 middle school students and Toro volunteers spent the morning raking the yards of homes of seniors as well as the local senior community center. This project engages students in giving back and putting into practice what is being taught in the classroom.

Habitat for Humanity Support for Habitat for Humanity is strong in many Toro communities. Building community’s long term begins with affordable stable housing which is why Toro partners with Habitat for Humanity across the country.

In Riverside, CA Toro employees were part of the project from groundbreaking to the new homeowner welcome event. The Riverside property was previously a drug house. It took weeks to tear down and haul the old structure away. The situation was so dire that the dirt on the property even needed to be sifted for drug paraphernalia before building could begin. Today a family of four is happy and proud to be new homeowners.
Twin Cities: Toro supports Habitat with volunteers as well as a new lawnmower for each new homeowner.

National Volunteer Week
In Beatrice, NE each year a new home is built by Habitat. Crews of Exmark employees spent three days with this home helping to make it handicapped accessible.

Wisconsin
On occasion manufacturing plants shut down production for a week for a variety of reasons. Employees from Tomah used this time to build a better community by splitting up into teams and participated in a diverse array of projects at seven agencies with work ranging from painting indoors to spring maintenance at a local nonprofit golf course.
United Way The economic challenges of the past year have elevated the importance of meeting the basic needs in Toro communities. In 2010 Toro’s ongoing employee and company support of United Way organizations remained strong contributing over $842,000 in communities where our employees live and work.
Employees from Toro’s two manufacturing plants in Juarez, Mexico directed their United Way support toward projects ranging from computer donations to air conditioners. Learn more
One hundred and fifty boxes packed full of food to stock family pantries for the summer were packed by Twin Cities volunteer. Another group put on their gardening gloves to beautify the landscapes of a woman’s shelter.
