Giving Back Together: How We Support Employees

At The Toro Company, giving back isn’t just something we do—it’s part of who we are. We know that the heart of our company is our people, and we are proud to support the causes that matter most to them. Through our giving programs, we strive to make a meaningful difference, not only in the industries we serve but also in the communities where we live and work.

Employee Programs

Paid Volunteer Time Off (VTO)

Whether you’re lending a hand at a local charity, participating in company-sponsored events, or supporting a cause close to your heart, we celebrate and encourage employee efforts to give back. The Toro Company's Corporate Volunteer Policy allows full-time, salaried employees to volunteer up to 20 hours during the workday each year.

International Immersion Program

The Toro Company focuses on areas where we can improve water use efficiency, enrich outdoor environments and greenspaces, and educate on sustainable agriculture. In partnership with iDE and Opportunity International, our employees engage in transformative immersion trips to improve land productivity and agricultural water practices for smallholder farmers in the developing world.

Everyday Heroes

The Everyday Heroes award celebrates extraordinary employees for their outstanding volunteer efforts. Employees are encouraged to nominate themselves or a colleague in honor of those who make a difference within all of our communities. Each recipient will receive recognition and a $1,000 donation to their nonprofit organization.

Dollars for Doers

The Toro Company supports employee volunteerism by donating $300 to qualifying non-profit organizations where employees have contributed at least 30 hours of personal volunteer time. These financial contributions not only reward our employees' dedication but also help us give back to the community.

Corporate Matching Gift Programs

At The Toro Company, we are committed to supporting our employees’ generosity by matching their financial contributions to their favorite vetted nonprofit organizations. We believe in maximizing employee civic engagement in the communities where we live and work.

Employee Emergency Assistance Funds

Life can be unpredictable, and we’re here to support each other. This fund provides financial assistance to employees facing unexpected hardships. It helps employees who are unable to afford housing, utilities, food, clothing and other basic living expenses because of a natural disaster, a life-threatening or serious illness or injury, loss of life, other circumstances beyond the employee’s control.

TTC Scholarship Program

The Toro Company has long been committed to education, offering a wealth of lifelong learning opportunities for our employees. This includes two scholarship programs offered to employee dependents and employees through The Toro Company Foundation, and through former chairman and CEO of The Toro Company, Mike Hoffman, and his wife, Tami Hoffman.

Auction and Raffle Product Donation

The Auction and Raffle Donation Program is one way The Toro Company Foundation supports our local communities by providing nonprofits with a high-quality product to help support the nonprofit and their fundraising events one time per year.
